7P8 - MaKey MaKey

Using a Makey Makey, I created bongos because I thought it would be something simple and easy to make. While still making me go over the basics of a Makey Makey. Also it was tied to something I enjoyed which is music.

During this process, I learned that coding with scratch is pretty fun. And that Bongos are pretty simple to make on scratch. I also learned that playing snake on the Makey Makey is hard because of the fact that you cant move the clips fast enough.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to knowledge constructor because I found the Makey Makey website and followed their tutorials. And I also looked up videos on scratch so I could code with scratch on a Makey Makey.

A challenge I overcame on this project was getting done too early. I was able to do it by making more different projects so that I wouldn't have to just do one project for the entire week.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the bongos. The reason why I would change it is because I finished to early. I should have done a more complicated instrument like a full drum set so actually could spend a entire week coding it.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Controller Making ( Like Wii controllers), Hardware coding and Computer operation.
