Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am going to be working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a 3d printer, a computer, and an iPad.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I want to 3d print some fruit.
What unique qualities will your project have?
I don't think someone has 3d printed fruit in this class yet so I will.
Day 1:
I started my website for 3D Print
Day 2:
I pretty much finished my pineapple all the way, I might add the spike things. I also started on my apple.
Day 3:
I finished my apple, and I then started on more fruits. I finished apple and orange. I also started on a lemon and added spikes on to the pineapple and I made a fruit basket.
Day 4:
I finished my lemon and I started a kiwi and I finished the kiwi and now I am ready to print.
Day 5:
I finished my project and I am now onto the printing phase.
Day 6:
I finished my website but my print had a problem so I didn't get to finish yet.
Day 7:
my 3d print got finished and I took a photo
Make sure you have your video of a project
Using Tinkercad, a 3d printer, and a computer, I created a bunch of fruits. Because I wanted to make a toy of fruits because I like fruits. And you can use the fruits for like fake cooking to help you learn cooking.
During this process, I learned how to use the Tinkercad website more deeply. I also learned how to put an SD card into a 3d printer. And I also learned how to work part of the 3d printer by picking my print and starting it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I picked what I wanted to make. I also picked how big I wanted it to be and I also made however many fruits I wanted to make.
A challenge I overcame in this project was figuring out how to start the 3D printer and how to put the SD card in. I was able to do it by watching a video on how to do it. And I also figured out how to do it by asking someone for help.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how many fruits I made. The reason why I would change it is because It would be cooler to just have more fruits because fruits are cool. I would probably also add maybe some exotic fruits instead of the average basic fruits.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects to Engineering Design because I built what I wanted and I built it by 3d printing it.
My project connects to careers in engineering because engineering has to do with building things. I built what I wanted to build using a computer. A career that involves using computers to build could be a computer programmer.
