Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Lego, iPad, computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I wanted to build something random like a house.
What unique qualities will your project have?
Someone in my class hasn't built a house yet so I will.
Day 1:
I made part of my website and started on the legos.
Day 2:
I added walls to my house thing and I made them as tall as I wanted them to be
Day 3:
Finished my lego house and I will finish the website tomorrow.
Day 4:
I started working on the rest of my website and finished my video.
Using Legos, I created a Lego house because I thought a house would be cool. I also made a house to store little things in. I added things to the house like a crafting table from Minecraft because I thought it would be cool.
During this process, I learned how to build a house with legos I pretty much haven't used legos before. I figured out some slight techniques that I could've used. Some techniques were like putting just flat pieces on my roof because that would've been easier than a pointy roof.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I thought of what I wanted to build which was a house. And I figured out how I would decide to make it like the structure, like how I would want the foundation of the house to be.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to build a roof because I didn't know how to. I was able to do it by just putting flat pieces on the top. I also got it recommended to me by someone else that said it would've been easier to do.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size. The reason why I would change it is because I want it a little bigger so it can be a little more harder to build. And so I could also store some more bigger things in there.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Construction Trades CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects to construction trades because construction trades involve building a house which I did.
My project connects to careers in Construction because I made a house that can involve construction. Construction can also involve many other building things. Lego is all about construction, that is why I picked construction as my career.
