Using CoSpaces, I created a virtual reality world because I thought it would be interesting to see what I can create from my imagination. My original idea had a lot of changes in my head, but when it came to actually coding and creating it was pretty straightforward. I found this project very interesting and fun to do, and I feel that I problem-solved and figured out a lot of things by myself.
During this process, I learned a lot of things. For example, I learned how to make a character's body language change while they're talking. I also learned how to make something walk/run, and how to make a snowman dance.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because my VR world is a quiz, which millions of people have made on millions of different subjects. I simply made a quiz of completely random things and made it into a sort of game for the player.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out all the different scenes. I created so many more scenes than I originally planned, and it was confusing. However, I was able to do it by creating a tree diagram of all the different scenes for visual reference.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change it to be a shorter version of what I made. The reason why I would change it is because there are so many scenes and because of that it caused a lot of confusion and difficulties. It also made the video longer than it should have been.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Virtual Reality engineering.
