Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a merge cube, CoSpaces app, and a computer or
chromebook
What is your plan to create in this project?
I am planning on creating a scene on the CoSpaces app
on a merge cube.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will have a scene that I created, and it
will have a unicorn.
Daily Log:
Day One- Today I just got used to the app, I didn't start working on my scenes yet and I just explored free play.
Day Two- I started working on my first scene. It was a house with a family, but I didn't love this story.
Day Three- I made up my mind about changing scenes, so I just messed with it until I came up with a nature scene with a deer and I got my 2nd and 3rd scenes done.
Day Four- I got my fourth scene done.
Day Five- I finished my fifth scene, and worked a little bit on my website.
Day Six- I finished my final scene, and tried it out on the Merge cube.
Day Seven- I recorded my video and took screenshots of the scenes, and then put them into my website.
Day Eight- I rerecorded my video, (Because of technical difficulties) and then I put it into my website and finished the rest of the work I had to do for this project. (Things I had to write in my website)
Using CoSpaces, a computer, and a merge cube, I created an augmented reality scene because I wanted to explore the world of augmented reality, which I've never worked with before. I created several scenes with a deer in a field, and a unicorn looking for a new place to live. The viewer has to guess which one of the animals is going to win the fight.
During this process, I learned how to program and create scenes using an app and a cube. I say this because I didn't even know what augmented reality was until a couple weeks ago, and I found it really interesting. I then heard that I would get to create my OWN world in augmented reality, and I was so excited.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I am using my own thoughts and ideas to create something that no one else has created before. It also makes me a Global Collaborator because I'm creating something that anyone can see if they go to my website.
A challenge I overcame on this project was putting the scenes on the side of the cube. This was a challenge because I created a new scene for each part. I was able to do it by taking pictures and different videos of each scene and tying it all together.
Given a chance to do this again, I would make sure that I didn't make new scenes for each side of the cube. The reason why I would change it is because it's a lot easier to finish overall, and it wouldn't be that extra step of effort. Plus, I think that it would just look better.
