Daily Log
Day 1- I started planning what I was going to make for my 3d design and I decided to work on a sort of lock for backpack zippers.
Day 2-I continued to work on the lock and I made adjustments to it so that it would work better.
Day 3-Nothing really changed, there was a change at first where I decided to use a different shape for the hook, but then I went back to my original design.
Day 4- At this point I kind of knew that I was ready to be done with the design, but I made some size adjustments. I decided that I was just going to have it go back to the way it was.
Day 5-I started working on my website.
Day 6-I finished everything I could up on my website.
Day 7-My 3D print finished so I made a video and put it in Google Classroom, and then turned it in.
Using Tinkercad, a computer, and an iPad, I created a 3d design of a zipper lock because I wanted to solve the problem of your backpack zippers falling open. A couple weeks ago I had the problem of my backpack zippers opening when I was riding home from tennis on my bike. I had to dig in my backpack for something to help it. I ended up finding a hair tie, but I was worried it would snap the entire way home.
During this process, I learned the basics of creating a 3d design. Once again, I was going into a project but I had very little idea of what I was doing even though around this time last year I was creating a 3d design. I came to the realization that I forgot how to do it, but I very quickly picked back up on it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I created something that could solve the very serious problem of your backpack zippers opening. The zippers on my backpack are going to thank me later.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out the size of the project. I was able to do it by asking a friend how you make the grid the correct size. I felt a lot better after I knew how.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size of my project. The reason why I would change it is because it came out really small. I think the size of it really affected how it turned out, and it didn't turn out that well because the film filled the rings, making it so that I am unable to put
