Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team with one other person.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need the required robots, an iPad, and a computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to fulfill all the required tasks for each robot, and then create my own task
using the robot of my choice.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will include a task created by my partner and I.
Daily Log
Day One- I was not here.
Day Two-I chose my partner, (Landon Currier) I started working with the Bolt, and I got used to the controls.
Day Three- My partner and I decided not to use Bolt first, so we chose the Sphero Mini instead because it seemed like the easiest to start with. We got used to those controls and coded it to go in a square.
Day Four-We coded the Sphero mini to go in a rectangle, and then used the iRobot to begin coding my initials. We finished with the iRobot and Landon began working on the Bolt, while I made some changes to the Sphero Mini because I was not satisfied with our ending codes when we originally worked on it.
Day Five- We finished the iRobot and Landon began working on the Bolt, while I made some changes to the Sphero Mini because I was not satisfied with our ending codes when we originally worked on it.
Day Six-I took some screenshots of the codes for the Sphero Mini because I forgot to yesterday while Landon worked on the Dash. Once I was done with that, I started fixing our code for the Bolt.
Day Six-We finished the Dash and finished the video, and then completed our final shape with the Mini and added it to our video.
Day Seven-We finished up the Bolt and then began working on our websites. We had a half day schedule and Landon and I were already finished with coding all the robots, so I started adding the pictures and videos to my website.
Day Eight-We had a half day schedule and Landon and I were already finished with coding all the robots, so I started adding the pictures and videos to my website.
Day Nine-I kept working on my website.
Day Ten-I forgot we had to come up with our own task, so Landon and I started talking and planning what we were gonna do for the 5th robot.
Day Eleven-We started coding the iRobot to play a song that we're playing at the spring concert for band, Beauty and the Beast.
Day Twelve-We continued to work on the song. We had some trouble with figuring out the right notes so we decided that tomorrow we will bring the sheet music to know for sure.
Day Thirteen- Landon and I finished the iRobot Beauty and the Beast song and recorded it.
Day Fourteen-I wrote my reflection and turned in the project.

Using Bolt, Dash, Sphero Mini, iRobot, and an iPad, I created coded projects for several robots because it helped improve my skills with technology and complex codes. Each robot had it's own set of tasks that we had to fulfill in the span of about two weeks. Although the process of finishing these tasks were all over the place, (as you can tell from the daily log) I think it's safe to say my partner and I had a lot of fun with it.
During this process, I learned way more about coding. Coding has never been my strong suit, but this project really helped me understand it a little bit more although it was out of my comfort zone. I feel like there was a lot of frustration getting used to all the different apps, but after getting some help from Landon and using each app more and more, I actually started to really enjoy it. Part of it was learning with a friend that has way more knowledge on this topic, but I think it's safe to say that this could even be my favorite project so far due to how much I learned and how far I stepped out of my comfort zone.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because when I started this project I knew very little about coding robots. Coming out of it, I know so much more than I did when I started. More than I ever thought I could learn in such a short timespan.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting all the right notes in our 5th project. I had most of it off the top of my head for the most part, but the ending of the song was confusing and I felt as if I had tried everything. However, I was able to do it by getting the sheet music to the Disney song and looking at the last two measures, and then putting those notes into the code and finishing the project I did have to change the octave in one part of the song because it was supposed to change, and it does sound kind of weird, but there wasn't really anything I could do about it and I'm okay with that.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the order of the way we did the projects. The reason why I would change it is because we went back and fourth in between some projects because we felt like we could do better with the ones we went back to. This caused a lot of unnecessary stress, and it would've been a lot easier to just make sure everything was done before moving on.
