Using a wooden board, I created a board game because I always wanted to make a board game and now that I'm older I can make a board game as well as game-making companies.
During this process, I learned that making board games is a hard process and not for people who want to get it right the first time because I had to restart drawing the board game's layout.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to an empowered learner because I had to demonstrate how I could learn and grow cause I never knew how to make a board game the day I was born so I had to learn it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how do I make that would be fun. I was able to do it by combining some of my favorite games like Monopoly, Candy Land and Trouble.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what I used as the board for the board game. The reason why I would change it is because it doesn't fold up like I wanted and also it doesn't work with the pieces I have.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in industrial designer because they develop cars, home appliances and toys which includes board games but they have to draw it first.Second make it into a 3d model finally if the drawing works as a model then they make it for real this time now people can buy and sell their work in stores or anywhere in the world.
