Using an ipad, I created a movie out of Lego bricks and mini-figures because I love the Lego movies so for the longest time I have acted like I was making a movie of my own but wasn't really. This was the opportunity for me to actually make a movie with Lego mini-figures.
During this process, I learned that stop-motion movies are hard to film when you are on your own it pays off to have someone to help you. That's what I learned during this process.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to a computational thinker because I had to solve hard problems and I used a ipad to film my video.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not having enough time to do all that I wanted. I was able to do it by cutting down on what I had to build as sets and working after school.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change doing this by myself. The reason why I would change it is because I alone had to build all the sets and find all the characters. Also I had to film the movie but I got some help on that.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the digital multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in animation because animators have to create the world that the characters live in and create the characters themselves from nothing.
