Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Fabric, needle, and thread.
What is your plan to create in this project?
Doll cloths.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be cool, pritty and simple.
Using fabric, needle, and thread, I created doll cloths because I need to have more cloths for my Barbie dolls.
During this process, I learned how to hand sew and how long as well as how hard it is to hand sew something.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to being a computational thinker because I had many problems. First I didn't have enough time to finish the outfit so I took it home to finish; but then when I got it done it didn't fit my Barbie doll so I had to restart the clothes. When I finally finished remaking the outfit I realized that most of the time actually most of my life I've been a computational thinker quickly solving my problems.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how long it takes to hand sew. I was able to do it by working on it at home.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change not using the sewing mashing. The reason why I would change it is because I had to work on this at home just to get it done.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School because I chose to "build" and design something out of fabric.
My project connects to careers in project engineering because I had to be responsible for what I was using the fabric, the needle, the thread, and the doll;I had to plan out the whole thing, I had to make a schedule for myself also I had to stick with it from begging to end.
