Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Fabric, needle, thread; ruler, pipe cleaner and my computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
Dolls that I can play with.
What unique qualities will your project have?
Hard work,unique, and educational.
Using fabric, needle and thread, I created dolls because I love toys so I thought what if I could make some toys of my own.
During this process, I learned that it's really easy to do but you have to know how to sew first.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to a creative communicator because I used fabric, needle, and thread to express my desired objectives.
The challenge I overcame on this project was how to keep the fabric on the metal frame. I was able to do it by stuffing the body with cotton, and little pieces of fabric.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what I used to film the videos. The reason why I would change it is because I used my computer instead of a tablet but I don't know how to post the videos I made on the computer.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in design engineers because I made my dolls all by myself and design engineers make what they design by themselves.
