7P9-Stop Motion

Reflection

• Using my I pad, some cardboard, fabric, tape, a straw, string, a ping pong ball , Lego figure,play doh and little plastic figures. I created a stop motion video of a baseball game through many innings and plays. I made this because I like the sport of baseball and I thought it would be a fun game to recreate using stop motion. I really liked doing this because i have a lot of knowledge on the game and how it is played so I could make interesting plays happened that might not happen in a real game happen there in the stop motion.

• During this process, I learned how to use the stop motion app and all it features. One thing that I learned how to do in the app about half way through my project was very helpful. It was that it would show a slight image on my screen as in taking the next photo of the previous photo to show what had moved and how it was before I had changed the set.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge constructor. As I started out my stop motion not knowing how to do it at all but ended knowing how to make a video and accomplishing my first stop motion video as well.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was not being able to accurately remember what and where all the set was the previous recording session for my stop motion. I was able to do it by using the feature on the app. As I  previously stated it allowed me to see the last photo in real time blurred out in the background so I could line everything up perfectly as I had it the day before. This helped transition from day to day look like nothing had changed.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size of the field and the size of the ball . The reason why I would change it is because the ration between the field and the ball was way too different. As we used a ping pong ball and a small field about 12 inches in length and 10 inches in width. It was a very small field for the ping pong ball and all the plays were very off putting because of the size of the ball when it was on the field.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in visual journalist, content developer, public relations and multimedia developer or designers.
