Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need my computer, I pad, a 3D printer and the app tinker cad.
What is your plan to create in this project?
To meet all the expectation's and to make my project something that I will use.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will solve a problem that i will fix using only 3D printers.
I worked on my planning questions .
I worked on making my basic shape design.
I grouped it all together and get the dimensions for the charger base and wire.
I looked over my project fixing any small problems and re-aligning everything.
I realized that the charger USB would not be able to fit through what i had for the cord so I re-designed it so it is able to fit.
I worked on my reflection for my project.
Using my computer and tinker CAD, I created a charger holder which keeps my charger in one place. I created this because my charger is always moving my night side table and it makes it look dirty. So I made this so I can have my charger in one place all the time and it will also hide the cord.
During this process, I learned how to create holes through my design. If I didn't know how to do this I would have not been able to make a hole where the cord would go through. Also I was able to figure out how to get dimensions just right for the whole thing which I didn't know how to do before.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer. I think it ties to this because to be an Innovative Designer you have to understand how to use your digital tools which in this case I had tinker cad, and use it to solve a real world problem. So during this project I used my resources and solved a real world problem.
A challenge I overcame on this project was realizing I would not be able to get the cord through the hole. The reason for this is I would also have to put the USB at the end of the cord through as well . I was able to do it by finding the dimensions of the USB and then making a hole big enough for the USB to go through.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way it looks. The reason why I would change it is because I think it looks too bland and really simple. I also would change how the cord comes out of the design. A solution for both would be to change up the outside and maybe make a pattern which could give me more space which allows the cord to be able to change where it would out of.
