Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a computer, monter, keyboard, mouse and a micro bit.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create many different ideas and projects such as a traffic light or a game or maybe a face.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will have many lights so it will have lots of colors and designs.
I first started with thinking of ideas for my micro bit then coming with with my 10 good ideas.
I then started making code and downloading it to my micro bit.
I made my micro bit say my name
I created a standard 1 to 6 dice when shoken (randomized)
Above that is the code I used for the dice.
This is the coding for micro chat to be able to talk to other people on the same set group and be able to send them messages.
A video of a friend sending me a message from his computer/microbot to mine.
I made a love meter when two people push the A and B buttons it tells them from 0 to 100 how much then are in love.
I made and interactive smiley to frown face when buttons A and then B are pressed they switch faces.
Using a Micro bit, my ipad, and my computer and monitor. I created designs, games, art works, interactable projects that light up to show a general idea on what the microbit is trying to showing, and doing it is a screen with 25 LEDS which make moving lights and images, with multiple ways that the leds lights can flash and move. I worked on this project at the website https://microbit.org/ which allows me to code my micro bits.
During this process, I learned how to code accurate and productive series of lights by just using simple code . I also learned how to use simple code to make complicated and hard series of lights. Lastly also learned how to get the code to my website for everyone to be able to see it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I used real life data to solve how to code my micro bit . I then ended up putting my problems into my project and solving them, to then using them every time I coded as I found an easier and better solution to my problem.
A challenge I overcame on this project was taking screenshot of my code to be able to put it in my website. Also related to that I also overcame getting the screenshots into my computers drive. I was able to over come this by using my peers around the room brain storming together and using our resources to eventually figure out how to take the screenshot which lead us to then being able to put it into a file folder letting me put it into my website.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my coding soft ware from blocks to real code like python. The reason why I would change it is because I want to progress and learn new ways to code and how hard it might be doing different coding methods. Also so I can be able to code both ways instead of just the block coding.
