Empowered Learner - Students can be independent in the form of setting goals and achieving them, and fixing mistakes/finding solutions to problems preventing them from achieving their goal(s). Students participate in class activities and can explain what they learned from lessons. Students can also use technology and other tools available to them to receive feedback and suggestions on their work for further improvement.
Digital Citizen - Students know how to safely and responsibly navigate the internet, and are cautious about sharing any private information. They have an understanding of the permanency and consequences of their actions and know how to be safe when interacting with strangers online. In addition, students responsibly manage the personal data they store on the internet and know who to trust with their data.
Knowledge Constructor - Students know how to navigate and use a web browser to find information, and question the validity of information they find online. They can cross-reference data from multiple sources, and compile that data into meaningful conclusions. Students can ultimately build their knowledge of real-world problems, and develop ideas for possible answers and solutions.
Innovative Designer - Students can use a design process to create and test ideas, and can use digital tools to plan designs and take notes for improving or creating new ideas and designs. They can also use this design process to consider the risks and limitations of their ideas and/or projects. They can use the resources available to them to design new solutions to problems.
Computational Thinker - Students know how to extract important information from a problem that can be used to brainstorm solutions, and can create algorithms for problems. They can break complex problems into key parts in order to more easily extract information and develop efficient and effective solutions.
Creative Communicator - Students can communicate their ideas, problems, and solutions clearly and effectively using presentations/visualizations. Students should also know how to follow the rules of copyright when using other people's work and or ideas for their own. In addition to using other people's work, they also know how to create original works of their own.
Global Collaborator - Students can be reliable and helpful team members and can collaborate with others to come up with solutions to problems. They can use technology to communicate and collaborate with others. They also know how to efficiently work in teams in order to work towards goals and solutions with their peers and coworkers.
