Reflection
Using an iPad, iMovie, and the internet, I created a movie about how much I like the book Scythe because almost nobody has ever heard of it. I like Scythe because it has a very interesting plot and it is very original. I find it very sad that this book is so unknown to most people.
During this process, I learned how to put titles, music, and sound effects into a movie. Another thing I learned is how to operate an Apple iPad. I also learned how to make my voice-over sound good by not putting the microphone too close to my mouth.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Class Standard #2 Digital Citizen because I used Creative Commons images in my movie, and I am not making money off of my movie. This is important so I do not violate the rules of copyright and get fined. My project also ties to Class Standard #7 Global Collaborator because I published my movie to the world so that anyone can see it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was discovering how to add a title to my movie. I was able to do it by using my pointer finger to press the image on my movie. This taught me to use my fingers on a touch screen interface to solve problems. Sometimes my genius scares me.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the intro to my movie. The reason why I would change it is that it is very simplistic and I didn't put a lot of effort into it. I would like to create something that will make the viewer go "Wow, this looks professional!"
