I am working with a partner.

What materials will you need for your project?

I will need a Makey Makey, USB, and alligator clips.

What is your plan to create in this project?

My plan is to create a circuit with multiple people to play Flappy Bird.

What unique qualities will your project have?

It will contain a lot of people to make a human circuit.

Daily Log:

Day 1

We spent day one learning how to use the Makey Makey.

We brainstormed ideas and played around.

Day 3

We finished our project with the help of seven other people.

Day 4

I made some last touches to my website.

Reflection

• Using a Makey Makey and 7 other test subjects I created an 8-person circuit to play Flappy Bird. I did this because Flappy Bird is cool, but 8-person Flappy Bird is better. I performed pretty well, but a certain somebody would not stop moving his hand and messed me up.

• During this process, I learned how ground works in electrical circuits. I also learned that humans are conductive. This means that electricity can flow through somebody. I used this to create a circuit with live test subjects.

  • The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I had to think about how electricity worked, and what objects electricity could flow through to complete a circuit. (conductivity)

• A challenge I overcame on this project was connecting the alligator clips to me to make a circuit. I was able to fix this by making a tinfoil ring and putting it on my finger. Then I could attach the alligator clip without hurting my poor skin.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would add more people. I would do this because the more people we have, the longer the human circuit. The longer the human circuit, the more ridiculous and hilarious the project is.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education program offer Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Electrical Engineering because I had to learn what was conductive and how a closed circuit and ground work.
