25 Things you can do with an IPAD

Using one of the classroom iPads and the microphones, I created a snow day/ 2 hour delay jingle with Skylar, Cohen, Aubree and Kimber because Mr.Renner asked us to make a jingle and send it to Ms. Stevens so she can post them on days we have a snow day. When we showed our video to Ms. Stevens and the office workers, they loved it and thought we did a great job.
During this process, I learned how to use iMovie to edit videos. Our goal was to have the singer singing the whole time but have different video clips in it. We accomplished this goal by detaching the singing audio and splitting the singing video and adding in the locker clip and the clip in Ms. Stevens office.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer, and Knowledge Constructor because we used multiple technology devices (iPad and Microphone) and we also created this video not only for our pleasure but for the principal to use when we have a snow day and to get laughs out of the community.
A challenge I overcame on this project was volume control. The first few videos we made, it was hard to hear the singer over background noise. To fix this, we used a microphone that plugged into the iPad and then made the singer louder in the iMovie app. . I was able to do it by having the singer hold the microphone close to her, and raising the volume to 500% on the app.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change possibly the singer. Maybe we could have more than one singer. The reason why I would change it is because she was saying she did all the work and yes she sang but she took a lot of credit. The editing process was just as much work as the singing. So maybe we could have multiple people singing and editing.
This project connect to careers in production. I could take videos for events or parties and add them together and edit them to be the creation that the people wish for. I could also be an extra in a movie because I can easily just look like I am talking or doing something.
