Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By my self
What materials will you need for your project?
A 3D printer and a computer to run tinkercad on.
What is your plan to create in this project?
A Christmas present.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be the only one of its kind.
Using a 3D printer, I created A gear that has 6065 in the middle of it for my cousin for Christmas because he made one for me when he was in robotics.
During this process, I learned how to use a 3D printer website.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I created a model of the gear that my cousin made me.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out were to put the key chain hole. I was able to do it by making the teeth bigger to fit the hole nicely.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the kind of gear. The reason why I would change it is because I found the gear that my cousin used to make mine.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Gear Engineering.
I'm done designing it.
