At Hastings College, students are responsible for their own textbooks. Although we no longer sell textbooks at our campus Spirit Shop, we've partnered with Akademos to help you easily find and purchase the course materials you need.
Here’s how the process works:
Before you register for classes, you can view the required course materials selected by your instructor. Once you've registered, it’s your responsibility to have those materials by the first day of class.
If you choose to purchase through Akademos, simply log in with your HC credentials, and your upcoming term schedule be integrated, displaying a list of required textbooks for each of your enrolled classes.
If you prefer not to use Akademos, there are many third-party textbook sources available with both rental and purchase options from sites like Amazon, Chegg, and others.
The choice is yours.
Make sure to reach out to your instructors directly if you have any specific questions about textbooks or materials before purchasing. The staff at Perkins Library is also happy to help you navigate this overall process.
