Innovation and Design

Course Introduction:

This course is designed around the idea of allowing students to make many choices about their learning experience.  Students are provided with access to 21st-century technologies (3D printers, laser cutters, x-carve, robots, drones ... etc.) then through the design process, they get to create.  All students will show their evidence of learning through a digital portfolio they will be creating, using Google Sites.  Additional Digital and Professional Skills will be taught between the choice projects.

Course Procedures:

All projects will start with Google Classroom.  Through Google Classroom, students will receive directions and be able to plan out their projects.  As the student works on their project they will add evidence of the learning to their digital portfolio.  At the end of the project, they will write a reflection.  Students will then add a link to their project in Google Classroom and click submit.  Feedback on the project will be provided through Google Classroom.

7th Grade:

Students will be working with the same tool to meet their learning objectives.  They will utilize choice in what they create with that tool.
