WHAT'S HAPPENING:
Blackbaud, the company that supports CompassNet for Harding Academy, is phasing out the password management system we use for parents. This will require all parents to begin using a Blackbaud ID when they log in to CompassNet. In the coming weeks, we will begin sending instructional emails to parents to help them complete this transition, which should take about five minutes to complete.
New Parents: You have already received an email invitation for creating a Blackbaud ID. If you haven't completed the process please do so.
Students: You do not have to do anything. You already have the new username.
Once invited you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOGIN to CompassNet until you set up your email as your username to login.
You must have a unique email listed in your CompassNet profile. Make sure you don't have the same email list in your CompassNet profile as your spouse/partner.
If you have a Blackbaud ID from another school, once you get the "Connect to Harding Academy" email in step 1 below you can skip setting up a Blackbaud ID and login to CompassNet with that Blackbaud ID.
In the following weeks, you will receive an email invitation with the subject “Connect to Harding Academy”. Click on the Accept Invitation button to open the Sign up page.
On the Sign Up page, do not edit or change your email address. If you prefer to use a different email, please contact helpdesk@hardingacademy.us.
Option 1 [Non-Google Email]: Complete the form by entering a password and your first and last names. Your password should be a unique password that you do not use for other accounts/websites. Once you’ve entered the required information, select Sign up.
Option 2 [Google Email]: If you use a Google account for authentication (if your email has @gmail.com or is otherwise a Google based email ), select the Sign up with Google button. If you select this option, you will sign in using credentials managed in Google and Step 3 to confirm your Blackbaud ID account is not required. Skip to Step 4.
Within a few minutes of signing up, you will receive an email with the subject “Confirm your Blackbaud ID”. Click the Confirm button in this email to confirm your account creation within 24 hours.
On the CompassNet sign in page, enter your email address.
If your Blackbaud ID session is not active, sign in with your email address and the password you created for Option 1 in Step 2 OR if you selected Option 2 in Step 2, select the Sign in with Google button to authenticate with your Google account.

FAQ's
Q: If you have children at multiple schools using Blackbaud. Can I use the same email username?
A: Yes, you can use the same username account at multiple schools. You do not need to create a separate Blackbaud ID account for each school. If you already set up a BlackBaud ID with another school you don't have to create a new Blackbaud ID. Go directly to login. (see these login instructions). However, if you have trouble logging in please see this article.
Q: What if I cannot get the new email username login to work?

Q: Can I continue to use my old username if I get an activation email?
A: No. Once the invitation is sent out you will not be able to login to CompassNet until you complete the conversion process.
Q: How do I recover the password for the new username?
A: You’ll use the Forgot password? link on the sign in page to request a password reset email.
Q: What if, while signing up, I get a message that “The user already exists?”
A: If that happens, then the username has already been created with your email address. Sign in with the existing email username and use the Forgot password? link to reset your password if needed.
