Acting Chops with Random Props
Past performances are on a DS Gallery page with this same name:)
1- You will be sorted into random groups by Name Sticks.
(We usually do pairs or trios. Larger classes may have a group of four.)
2-Each group will have a chance to look at the props ahead of time. FYI: you MAY USE lab chairs in your performance, but not any other item (i.e.: your school supplies).
***There is a section with signs that read “2-of-a-kind" or "3-of-a-kind" - these groups count as ONE PROP***
3 - Groups will be called at random to make your prop selection. You will have 30 seconds to choose a certain number of props. I will give you the number!
4-SEMI-IMPROV:
*You will have 15-20 minutes to develop a 30s - 1 minute skit based on the props you selected.
*ALL group members must be involved in the skit, although not necessarily on camera...think about it.
*ALL chosen props must be used!
*DO NOT write a script - this is semi-improvisation.
*You might use someone's CB to time your rehearsal.
5-After planning, each group will perform their skit for the class. Skits will be filmed.
6-When your performance is finished, return your props and become members of the audience. We may make time after each performance for strong points and critical feedback.
7-Skits will be posted to the DS Gallery for other students to enjoy!
