Student Choices

1 - Browse DS Sites from the DS Portaportal: Use the first list of links: "Browse" 

​2 - Read a book  or a book on your device. 

3 - Artwork: You can do traditional artwork on your sketchpad & using your art supplies. There are supplies for you to borrow on the table, as well. You may go to Google Images to search up a picture to sketch ~ stay appropriate for school, please.


ANIMATION-ISH: Go to the Resources topic in Classroom. Open the "Animation-ish" material for the class code, & tutorial video:)
You may use your Chromeboook (w/o asking me) if that keyboard/track pad/touch screen is easier for you!


Digital Options:

--> Photoshop (go the Finder > Applications > "Adobe Photoshop" folder > "Adobe Photoshop") -- if you like this app, drag it from the Finder to your Dock;)

Coordinate Drawing: Visit this site to draw something by plotting coordinates. Graph paper is on the table. Let me know if you want to print something. CHALLENGE: create your own coordinate drawing challenge for another student.
Doodle Art Alley: Go to Google and search this site. You can also Google something specific like "Doodle Art Alley Women's History Month." You may print up to three copies during any one block.
Word Cloud Generator: enter your words & phrases into the box at the top right. Change your colors & font. When you're done, you can download as a .png. If you want it printed in color, email me your file. 

4 - Music: Compose music in GarageBand or Chrome Music Lab; or use any music-related site on the DS Portaportal. 

5 - Chess app on iMac or chess.com.

6 - Photoshop (I suggest using pictures from Photo Booth .)

7 - Comic Life app on iMac

8 - Photo Booth for selfies/backdrop videos.

9 - iMovie or WeVideo exploration: 

10 -Organize your iMac files or HCS Gmail account: back up files to Drive; put unneeded files in the Trash/empty the Trash; check gmail for teacher emails; send a teacher an email (Do not email other students. This action will result in a consequence.)

11 - Thank you cards for teachers who have helped you or your class in the making of your film; or, in any way with schoolwork, kindness, etc.. Make the card by hand or digitally (email it to me for color printing). Here are some helpful links for digital cards:

12 - Creative writing in docs: Working on a novel? Write poetry for fun? Then, this is the choice for you! Use your device or the iMac. (This does not include assignments for other classes. No chatting allowed.)

13- Draw from Google: go to Google Images and search up a picture/graphic/photo you would like to render digitally or by hand (appropriate searches, only). Use Pixelart or any other Choice #3 site to draw digitally; use your sketchbook, classroom art supplies, or a combo to draw by hand. 

14 - Hand crafts (origami*, crocheting, etc.) - bring your own supplies!

15 - Rubik's Cube or mind puzzles

16 - Create coloring pages with Mimi Panda (select "Create Coloring Page").
Try downloading a Google Image based on monthly themes (i.e.: March is Women's History month); upload a photo from photo booth; take a screenshot of a drawing you made in Animation-ish or another drawing app. You may print up to three coloring pages.
