Tier 1 instruction. It's what we do, it's what we should be focused on, it is where we can make literal change happen! I encourage you to dive deep into your MAP data, AMIRA data, and any other classroom assessment data that you have, and then evaluate what you have going on in your TIER 1 instruction. If we can get Tier 1 right, we can alleviate a lot of other things that come next. 

The district's focus on Vital Behavior #6- "When I teach a lesson, I use student discourse strategies requiring all students to participate in student-to-student academic talk." is a high leverage practice that will allow us to tap in to student understanding in an intentional way. Beth and I have been practicing with the walkthrough tool and will continue to be in classrooms to observe this in action. I am excited about the opportunities we are giving students and the way we can lift the language lid when done intentionally and effectively.

**Chestatee Homecoming Parade is Sep. 11th. Our 5th graders will be going over for the parade. If you are an adult that is wanting to attend, please put in for a personal day and secure a sub now. It is too difficult to try and find coverage for you the morning of the parade.**

**We are always excited to recognize PAWSitive Office Referrals! We haven't posted any of the photos yet because we weren't totally sure if ALL students have photo permission. If you know a child DOES NOT have permission, please let us know.**

Hey team! We are 13 days into the school year, and the pace has not slowed down. Thank you for ALL you are doing each day to make our Wildcats learners. The MAP window closes this Friday, August 28th, and all of your students should have completed both the reading and math MAP assessments. 

The AMIRA Assessment window is open now! All Kindergarten through third students must complete it. Students access the assessment through Launchpoint, and students will need headphones for this assessment. Complete the AMIRA spreadsheet once students have completed the assessment. We will meet on Friday, September 18th (date change from email) in the PL room during planning to review data, complete rubrics, create fluency letters in IC, and print AMIRA Reports.  

The i-Ready is now open, and Kimberly and Beth J. are working as fast as they can to pull students who need to complete the i-Ready assessment. Please see Kimberly's emails about the times she is pulling your students. 

Kimberly and Beth J. are also working on their schedules based around student data and needs. We will discuss in more detail in our collaborative planning. As always, please be flexible the first few weeks as they begin working with students; there are always possible shifts as needs change. 

Please remember to post your schedule outside your classroom door. This helps us and any visitors who come to your room know what to expect academically. If you have made a change to your schedule, please make sure it is reflected on the master. If it does not, let me know and I will make adjustments. 

Bruster's is back starting in September. For those who are new, students can purchase Bruster's Italian Ice one Friday a month. Please remember the money is due by the Wednesday before. The Friday dates are below.
