Welcome Back Warriors!

Warrior Families,

Welcome back! It's hard to believe another school year begins next week. We hope everyone's summer has been full of fun, relaxation, and time to recharge in preparation for a new school year. We are excited to begin the school year together at Chestnut Mountain Creative School of Inquiry! Our staff has been working hard to prepare for a great year. Rosters and schedules are being finalized this week, and you will receive a phone call or email from your child's teacher no later than Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Please join us for Open House on Thursday from 3:00-6:00 pm. Information and student forms for Open House are below.

With a new school year, we know there are many questions regarding how school will look. At this time, recess, specials, dismissal and lunch will resume as normal. Our goal will be to keep students in homeroom classes/ groups as much as possible throughout the day. We will encourage hand washing and social distancing as much as possible. In regards to additional plans and procedures, the Hall County School District website is being updated continuously as information changes. You can find the most up to date information about safety and our return to school at Reconnect Hall . We are excited to get back to field trips, family evenings and PTO events this year. More information will be coming soon!

At CMCSI, we are committed to working together to make decisions to keep our students and staff safe while striving to create an amazing learning experience for your child. Thank you for your support and patience as we work through another unprecedented year together. As always, you can reach out to us, our teachers, or the school office with questions. You can also email us with general questions at CMCSI@hallco.org We have missed our Warriors, and we are looking forward to seeing them soon!

Visitors & Volunteers

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer in your child's classroom or volunteering at some of CMCSI's special events? If so, complete this form for PTO and they'll be in touch.

We love having parents visit and volunteer at our school. We REALLY appreciate your help in adhering to the guidelines below.

  • This year we will be able to allow volunteers in our school by appointment.

  • For the safety of students, staff, and families, elementary schools will not be allowing parents or guardians to walk students to classrooms with the exception of the first day of school on Friday, August 6th. We will have staff members available each day to ensure students get to their classroom safely.

  • At this time, parents or guardians are not allowed to visit during lunch.

Student Arrival & Dismissal

Arrival: 7:15-7:40 am

  • During morning drop-off for car-riders, all parents must remain in their car and go through the car-rider line. With the exception of the first day of school, there will be no parking, walking students to the front door, or sending students across the crosswalk. Please plan accordingly, and arrive early enough to go through the car-rider line. There will be no exceptions this year, due to keeping social distances and spacing out students entering the building.

  • Our tardy bell rings at 7:45 am each morning.

  • If students are late, parents will use the outdoor camera/ call button. Students will be walked in by a staff member after notifying our front office using our intercom system.

  • Bus Information (Drop-off/ Pick-up times) can be accessed via Parent Portal as well. Directions are here. If you need assistance with your Parent Portal account, click here.

Dismissal: 2:20- 2:45 pm

  • Bus riders will begin loading buses at 2:20 each day.

  • Car Riders will begin at 2:20 each day. Please remember to have your child's car rider tag visible in your car each day. Parents must have ID (and may be asked to park and wait if holding up the car rider line) to pick up a student, if no car rider tag is present. If you need additional car rider tags or a tag replaced, email cmcsi@hallco.org

  • Daycare buses will load once school buses have pulled away.

  • Please try not to check out your child early, if possible. If your child has an appointment and must be checked out early, parents will use the outdoor camera/ call button. Parents or anyone checking out a student, will still need their state-issued photo ID to do so.

  • All check-outs must be completed by 2:00pm.

  • Bus Information (Drop-off/ Pick-up times) can be accessed via Parent Portal as well. Directions are here. If you need assistance with your Parent Portal account, click here.
