News from the Front Office

Wow! February has come and gone and we're headed into March. Exciting things are happening at CMCSI, and we are continuing to see our Warriors learn and grow. March kicks off with Read Across America Week this week, and we look forward to getting our Warriors even more excited about Reading. In the next few days, your child's teacher will be reaching out for you to sign up for Spring Parent Conferences. Parent Conferences will be from March 22-25. Our goal is for 100% of our families to have a conference with their child's teacher at CMCSI in both the Fall and Spring, so we look forward to meeting with you to share your child's progress. We will continue with Enrichment Clusters, MARC Awards and service learning projects during March. It's great to be a Warrior!

We are excited to have an upcoming Spirit Night at Culver's in Braselton. This is a great fundraiser for our school so make plans to stop by Culver's on March 10th from 5 PM-8 PM.

The district has added a student and staff holiday on Monday, March 21st. Students will also be off on Friday, March 25th for a Teacher Work Day. Teachers will be inviting parents to conferences on this day, as well.

We hope you have a wonderful week! Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @CMCSIWarriors to keep up with all of the amazing happenings at CMCSI and see lots of pictures of our students and staff too. Feel free to contact us if you ever need anything.

Bus Tracking My Stop App

Need to check arrival time for your child's bus? Wondering if your child's bus will arrive on time?

Versatrans My Stop™ is a mobile app that provides access to bus information, while providing parents valuable information about their child’s bus route and approximate time of arrival at their stop. Parents can download this app thru the App store to an IOS device, or to Android devices from Google Play. Information available here in English or Spanish.

To use the My Stop app:

After the Versatrans My Stop app has been downloaded, Tap the My Stop app icon to launch the My Stop app. At the landing screen, select the “TAP TO SELECT A SCHOOL DISTRICT” to display a list of school districts. If the screen is blank, tap the “CLOSEST DISTRICTS BUTTON”. On the Following screen, select Hall County School District and tap OK. At the login screen, the Username will be the student ID as provided by the school system. The default password will be your student D.O.B. (Enter as two-digit month, two-digit day, and four-digit year without any spaces or dashes). Tap Login. The My Stop screen displays your child’s name.

**If there is more than one student associated with a household, you can request all students to be grouped together by sending a request to the transportation department via email to bushelp@hallco.org. While placing this request please provide the following information.

- All requested student ID numbers

- Student birthdays (2 digit month,2 digit day, 4 digit year)

- Associated primary home address.

Once request has been received and processed, parents will be able to tap on the child’s name and a map will display with their bus route and current bus location. The bus route and bus location only display when the route is scheduled and GPS data is available. If the route is scheduled and there is no GPS data then it will still show the student stop but not the bus. Tap Setup. A screen displays that allows you to subscribe to “Delayed Bus notifications”, change your password, or add and edit user email address.

Media Center Renovations

We are VERY excited that our CMCSI Media Center will be renovated thanks to the Hall County School District SPLOST Funds! Our Media Center renovations begin this spring and should be completed in June. In order for our new Learning Commons to be ready to start the 2022-23 school year, we will be closing, packing, and moving out soon! We WILL need parent volunteers to help in our move, so please email ramsey.malone@hallco.org if you are available to help.

Mrs. Lewis-Thomas and our teachers and staff are working together to be sure our students and classrooms have the resources needed even though the actual Media Center will be closed. Our timeline for the new CMCSI "Learning Commons" is below:

        • Inventory/Media Center Closed – 2/28 – 3/4

        • Packing and Moving Boxes to Alternate Location – 3/7 – 4/22

        • Media Center Demolition Begins – 4/25

        • Learning Commons Complete- 6/27

See the plans for our NEW LEARNING COMMONS below!

Georgia Parent Survey

Don't forget to complete the Georgia Department of Education Parent Survey. Parent feedback is very important to us at CMCSI. Each year the Georgia Department of Education asks parents to complete this survey to help schools continue to improve. Please complete the parent survey online at the link below (in English & Spanish). Thank you for your input!

Character Education

March's character word is Cooperation. Students are learning that cooperation means working together to do more than you can do alone. Our community influencer for this month is the Laughing Man Foundation, and students will be learning how this company demonstrates Cooperation. For our character newsletter, click here.
