Wonderful Warrior Families,
It is hard to believe that October is here. Fall is in the air, and we are excited to be finishing our first nine weeks of school. September was a busy month filled with learning experiences and opportunities for your children to grow. October is another month full of activities, and we are excited about the events taking place. Our CMCSI PTO Warrior Walk-A-Thon is just a few weeks away, and fundraising kicks off this FRIDAY. Our next Spirit Night this month is at Chick-fil-A in Braselton. Report cards will be sent home on October 15th, and the last week of October is busy with Red Ribbon Week, the Book Fair, and our Fall Festival which is a FREE family event at CMCSI. You will be getting information soon to sign up for Parent Conference Week which is the first week in November. We hope ALL of our Warrior families will be able to attend these individual conversations with teachers to learn about your child's progress this year!

We are so excited to host the Book Fair at our school October 25th-29th. Students may visit the book fair to purchase books and other items for sale during the school day or during the Fall Festival from 4PM-7PM. Proceeds from the Book Fair benefit the CMCSI Media Center.
At CMCSI, each year our students participate in multiple Service Learning Projects. Warriors learn through giving back to our community. These student-centered initiatives offer unique opportunities for our students to focus on others while gaining valuable educational experiences. Our 5th Grade Warriors are currently hosting a snack drive for our Healthcare Workers in our community. If you would like to donate, please send individually wrapped snack items with your child this week. Our 5th Grade students are collecting and organizing items to be delivered to the hospital staff. Friday, October 8th is the final day.
We are continuing to promote positive character at CMCSI. This month's character word is Individuality. Students are learning that individuality means "discovering who you are meant to be." Ellen Ochoa will be this month's community influencer for demonstrating initiative. Parents can access the Parent Character Resources to reinforce positive character at home by clicking here. The Spanish version is also available here.
Red Ribbon Week is just around the corner. Students and teachers will celebrate being Drug Free October 25-29. Please click on the Red Ribbon Week image to access this year's daily themes. Students are encouraged to participate each day.
CMCSI is excited to partner with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Our Canned Food Drive will also be October 25th-29th. Students can bring in canned foods or non-perishable foods and drop them into the designated bins. We appreciate your support with this initiative.
