Our annual Fall Festival has been rescheduled and will now be Tuesday, November 9th from 4PM-7PM. At the Fall Festival, there will be baskets being raffled off by PTO, a cornhole tournament, food vendors, a costume contest and free games & prizes for our students. All proceeds go towards CMCSI PTO. PTO still needs volunteers for Fall Festival, so sign up here to help. We hope to see you there!
As you may know, CMCSI has a long history of celebrating our Veterans and First Responders with our Patriotic Day Parade and Program near Veterans Day each year. We are excited to honor our Veterans and First Responders in several ways this year. We have three options for our families to participate this year:
1) Patriotic Day: Veterans & First Responders in the families of our CMCSI Warriors are invited to join our Patriotic Day Parade and Program on Friday, November 12 at 9:00 AM. Veterans/ First Responders should arrive at CMCSI at 8:30, and sign in with their state-issued ID in the front office. We invite our visitors to wear their uniform or other clothing representing their branch of service. Veterans & First Responders will walk in a parade with their CMCSI student around our track and then enjoy our Patriotic Day Program with a performance from our CMCSI Chorus. Veterans and First Responders who plan to attend Patriotic Day should register here.
Visitors may attend Patriotic Day this year, but please remain in the reserved visitor seats for the parade and program. Patriotic Day will be hosted completely outside this year due to COVID precautions, so please dress accordingly. ALL visitors must sign-in at the front office with a state-issued ID, so please arrive early.
2) CMCSI Warrior Wall: Please submit pictures of U.S. Veterans and First Responders from your family- past or present- for us to display on our Warrior Wall! Attach a picture (or copy of a picture) to paper and list the Veteran/ First Responder’s name, branch of service, years served, and relationship to CMCSI student(s). We will proudly display our pages on our “Warrior Wall” in honor of Veterans Day. Please submit to your child’s teacher or email to cmcsi@hallco.org by November 11th and list your student and teacher on the back of the page, if you would like the photo returned.
3) Thank You Letters: If you have a current or retired U.S. Veteran or First Responder in your family, CMCSI would like to thank him/her! Please complete the information at this link (same as the Patriotic Day form above). Our classes will “sponsor” a Veteran or First Responder and create notes, pictures, letters, etc. to show our appreciation for his/her service. CMCSI will send our notes, etc. home with your student to deliver.
Chestnut Mountain staff and students are eager to honor those who serve our country and community for Patriotic Day. If you have questions about Patriotic Day, the Warrior Wall or Thank You Letters, contact your child’s teacher or the front office.

We are continuing to promote positive character at CMCSI. This month's character word is Contentment. Students are learning that Contentment means "learning to be okay with what you have." Jackie Chan will be this month's community influencer for demonstrating contentment. Parents can access the Parent Character Resources to reinforce positive character at home by clicking here. The Spanish version is also available here.
