September 26, 2017 was the day the world was changed forever. Fortnite was released free for all Epic Gamers to enjoy. It was a simpler time. 4 friends logging on to get some Victory Royales. Bush camping; landing Pleasant Park, Loot Lake, or even Dusty Depot. To many this was just a game, but to those who have played, it was much more. Fortnite was where friendships were hardened, made, and destroyed. Going over to friends' house just to play Fortnite with one another. Making each other rage quit were some of the best times. But, as times have changed, so has Fortnite. Complicated map designs, too many weapons, and wiping all of the old locations off the map made it so us OG players did not even recognize the game we have loved for years. Though we thought Fortnite would never go back to the way it was… November 3, 2023 our dreams came true. OG FORTNITE RETURNED. As many of you did, I logged on. Queues were plagued with the OG players waiting to play their old, beloved game. That day, over 5 million people were playing Fortnite at once. Old friends got back together to play just one more time the game they grew up on. So my fellow gamers, as Fortnite goes through their seasons every week leading up to their special event, reflect. Reflect on the times you had on the game. The game that got many through quarantine. The game that gave you joy for many years. The game that we have loved. Enjoy it while it lasts. Get those Victory Royales.
