Kudos to the Lancaster bookstore team of James Groff, Steve Sagar and JoAnne McCarthy who worked two Saturdays in January to process a large volume of web orders received while short staffed.

Kudos to the bookstore team and the CARE Center for working together to offer our students discounted bus passes.

Kudos to James Groff, manager of the Lancaster bookstore, and Matthew Nowik, textbook specialist with the York bookstore, who have been working with the student involvement team of the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging on book club events. 

Kudos to the bookstore team for processing 5,749 web and 1,582 point-of-service (POS) transactions in the month of January.

Kudos to Chef Steve Gump and Chef Dianna McGuirk for working to provide box lunch meals this past month for all the away games for our men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Kudos to Dr. Rachel Gifford, Assistant Professor of Business and Management, who welcomed baby number five on Jan. 14, 2022.

Kudos to Jenny Heberlein, Administrative Support III, successfully completed the eCornell Project Management Certificate Program. 

Kudos to The Copper Quill on receiving NCTE’s Realm Award. The Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) award program acknowledges "excellent literary magazines produced by students with the support of their teachers”.

Kudos to Patty Hanahoe-Dosch who recently published new poetry in Barzakh magazine.

Kudos to Tamara Girardi on the release of her novel, Gridiron Girl, the first of the series, which will release on March 3, 2022. 

Kudos to Christine Nowik on the acceptance of her book chapter, “Ungrading and Alternative Assessment”, which has been accepted for an edited collection titled Pandemic Pedagogy: Teaching and Learning After COVID-19. The publication will be available in early 2023.

Kudos to Dale Hardy, Lancaster/Lebanon facilities team, for preparing the new security office on the third floor of the Lebanon Campus and assisting security in the move from the old security office on the first floor to their new office.

Kudos to Erick Whiteside, Lancaster/Lebanon facilities team, for installing the new library counters in the Lebanon learning commons space.

Kudos to Carol Davis and Ron Benkendorf, Lancaster/Lebanon facilities team, for keeping the COVID-19 personal protection equipment (PPE) material well stocked on the Lancaster Campus PPE tables and delivering the on-line PPE requests to our Lancaster colleagues as they return to campus.

Kudos to Mike Sharpe, User Support, Lancaster Learning Commons. His dedication to our students and Learning Commons is exertional. Mike helped two students back-to-back, and afterwards the first student said that he is amazing and was able to help her with her personal equipment, so she would not need to request technology from the Techloan program. The second student told me that Mike is awesome! The Lancaster LC team could not agree more!

Kudos to Larry Harsh, Lancaster/Lebanon facilities team, for stripping and waxing the nursing lab floors on the Lancaster Campus in a compressed time and having the space put back together in time for skills training for the student nurses.

Kudos to Rod Bates, Jay Lohman and the Harrisburg maintenance team for moving the Midtown 2 consolidation project forward as we approach the lease end date of June 30, 2022.

Kudos to Nicia Hollman, Shawne Hargis and Terry Sholansky for securing the personal protection equipment (PPE) kits for our students and staff. Nicia, Shawne, Tom Frye, Randall Campbell, Dave Edwards and the campus facilities teams have been instrumental in ensuring that the KN95 masks and the PPE kits are available throughout our campus locations. Thank you for orchestrating this heavy lift.

Kudos to Gretchen McDonel for her excellent organizational skills and her work with our new Lock Haven partners.

Kudos to Debbie Beck, Brian Raybin, Gretchen McDonel, Nicia Hollman and Chris Fox for demonstrating fantastic collaboration skills in developing our new guest payment portal for the residents at Midtown 1 to pay and receive hang tags to park in the HACC Midtown 1 lot.

Kudos to Jenn Boyd and Amanda Wilkins for working with facilities on many communication projects over the past several weeks. Their knowledge, patience and guidance are so appreciated.

Kudos to Debbie Beck for the testing and implementation of the community parking pass payment portal for Midtown.

Kudos to Shaquena Hope, Utashni Gomes and Judy Zeiders for their work with agencies and employers who provide funding for credit and workforce development students to obtain certifications and degrees. They make this process as hassle free for the student as possible.

Kudos to Thepcharin Suttvireeson for his work in providing the 1098T form that students and their parents use to obtain an education credit when filing taxes.

Kudos to Debbie Beck and the cashiering team for their assistance in workforce development account maintenance. They have been providing follow-up on these accounts resulting in payments on past-due accounts.

Kudos to Marcia Washinger and Adrienne Barge on their work to implement the new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) lease changes and the move of our asset records to the new chart of accounts.
