HACC Tips for your Remote Life

The Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SAEM) addressed HACC students and many others in our HACC community who found themselves struggling not only with the prolonged effects of the pandemic but the expressions of racial tension occurring throughout the United States of America. This document and short video include helpful suggestions to reduce anxiety and tension. For students uncertain about the Fall semester being remote, another video was developed to address their concerns.

HACC Welcomes our new interim Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management

Mr. David Tracy, M.Ed. has 29 years of higher education leadership experience predominantly at community and technical colleges. Since 2010, he served as the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management at Massasoit Community College, a multi-site community college based in Brockton, Massachusetts. The chief student affairs officer oversaw the dedicated part and full-time staff in student services, enrollment management, academic support, college communications, and institutional research.

Previously, Mr. Tracy served as the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Technology at Bristol Community College in Fall River from 2007-2010. The leadership portfolio and accomplishments focused on enhancements to the admissions, financial aid, student records and registration, enrollment service centers, and new student programming. From 1991 to 2007, Mr. Tracy led various teams in different roles at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland, Maine. The college was the largest in the Maine Community College System that experienced the most significant enrollment growth in the state at that time. From 2002 to 2007, he served as the Associate Dean of Enrollment Services overseeing recruitment, admissions, financial aid, assessment, new student advising, student records and registration, and the one-stop enrollment center.

“Groceries on the Go” Food Initiative Report

After a successful June launch of HACC’s “Groceries on the Go” Food Initiative The Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and the Office of Inclusion and Diversity in partnership with Grocery Outlets, Kennie’s Market and Weis Markets provided grocery bundles for 305 HACC students and their families throughout our region!

Comments received about the initiative:

  • “Thank you very much, to you and the entire HACC administration in supporting us. God bless u all!”

  • At the Weis location in Harrisburg, the two employees responsible for packing the 150 bags were also HACC Students. One stated, “I gave my bag of groceries to a co-worker that was having a hard time at home.”

  • One Weis manager stated “Groceries on the Go was set to start at 10:00 am but HACC students started coming in at 8 in the morning; however, it was not a problem because we were prepared for them!”

  • Grocery Outlet stated, “We partnered with HACC to provide free bags of groceries for students. Happy to Bless our Community!”

  • From Grocery Outlet, text exchange with HACC. “we just had a girl bring my employee to tears for doing this! Her husband is in the military and she really needed some help.” - - from HACC, please offer her two bags!”
