Dear Cornelia Cub Families,
Our students are working hard to maximize their learning! We are all focused on fully implementing our new math curriculum, Eureka Squared, and the new English Language Arts standards. Each grade level is working together to “move their cub to the goal.” Ask your child how many i-Ready lessons they completed this week!
Picture retakes will be held on Thursday, November 6. If you would like for your child to have their picture retaken, please write a note in your child’s agenda.
Parent conferences will take place the week of November 10. Your child’s teacher will send home specific information regarding available times.
As we focus on gratitude this season, we invite you to take a moment to write a word of thanks to a CES staff member or teacher. Administration will share your kind words with our staff before Thanksgiving Break.

Holiday Season
The holiday season is quickly approaching! If your family needs a little extra help this Christmas, we’re here to support you. Our school is partnering with local organizations to provide holiday assistance for families in need. If you would like to receive assistance, please contact your child’s teacher or the front office. Applications for Toys for Kids are due be November 13th.
Resources
There are lots of resources in our community to help families in need. On the first Saturday of every month, the First Presbyterian Church will be doing a food give away in the Cornelia Elementary School parking lot from 8:00 am until supplies last. The Torch Food Pantry located at 236 Level Grove Road, Cornelia is open Mondays and Saturdays from 10:00 am-12:00 pm and Wednesdays from 5:00-7:00 pm.
At school, we often have access to food, jackets, and counseling resources your student may need. You can reach out to me, Emily Morris, at 470-977-2698 or emorris@habershamschools.com if your child is in need.
