Year 11 French builds on the students knowledge and understanding of the language and culture, putting it all into context. Students engage with a variety of texts types and enhance their communicative skills through exposure to a multitude of texts with varying difficulty. Through modelling, students create various texts in the target language which exploit the language and culture that they have learnt throughout their Italian studies.

Students study topics that are current, resulting in a more meaningful learning experience. The learning environment is collaborative and communicative and students are encouraged to participate in a range of discussions related to current issues in which they develop a greater understanding of the world around them and form opinions. Students are applying their meta-cognitive skills through a more profound interaction with the target language using authentic texts. They go beyond comprehension and begin to inform, analyse, evaluate and infer.
