A. The “Doctoral Human Resource Application Practicum” (internship), which is an elective compulsory content, is intended to “cultivate practical skills to solve social problems” and is mainly intended for activities at commercial companies, etc.; activities at university research laboratories are not eligible for this program.
The purpose of the “International Communication Practicum” (dispatched overseas (not study abroad)) is to “learn about the significance of obtaining a doctoral degree in the region and society and the differences from Japan” through interviews and exchanges of opinions with doctoral students at overseas research institutions, whether at companies or universities. We do not support study abroad programs that involve research activities, so we ask that travel and other expenses be covered by your research budget.

A. As long as you are in a situation where you can interview calmly (at the very least, create a situation where you can interview well and the recipient understands the purpose of the interview), you can be included in the international communication training.
In talking to professors from other universities, it is desirable to see and learn how they work in the field, if possible.
However, since the subsidy for the cost of overseas activities, such as participation in international conferences, will only be provided once, please consider this aspect of the program carefully.

A. It is possible. It is possible to conduct interviews with local researchers during presentations at overseas conferences. However, we ask that you devise a way to conduct the interview for a certain amount of time and in a focused manner, rather than for a short period of time standing around in a hallway.
