October 22nd

Things are still happening simultaneously, so I broke this journal entry into two components/priorities. 

Priority 1: The Video (content creation)

Over the summer, I found vlog-style videos to be feasible for me to edit and draw something quickly, so that I can remain pro-active on my goals even while busy. Last Saturday, I had a Diwali dance performance and decided to turn into into a "doodle video" (this is the best I can explain it, so please see the video attached). Since the mural process is going slower than I thought, short videos and mini drawings like these are easier to get done on my own terms.  

Priority 2: The SDA (mural) 

The owner of Botanical Brush reached back and liked the initial sketched from the mural proposal last week, but he also wanted to showcase pottery painting. I am still working on these designs, but will attach them to this journal tonight (10/23). 

Comments/Concerns:

• I'm starting to realize it might be better to have the mural as my SDA the month AFTER it is completed. Therefore, my journals could be process videos (almost like a recap) and my SDA could be on the impact of mural art. This way, even if things don't go according to a specific time frame, I won't be scrambling for EMC

• Sub-Concern: I feel like I'm not having a strict enough focus, which I something I might need help with. This month is my first month, so I know I'm still getting used to it, but I hope to have a more rigid plan going forward

• in the vlog-style videos, it isn't made clear I'm drawing until the end 

  • consdering an intro that details this (I did this on one video in the past) 

• Plans:

  • do mural background/approval work, but focus on maybe building an online presense 

  • I have a few posts, but I never introduced myself as an artist or uploaded any of my past artworks, so all people have seen is quick doodles and the painting I did for the library (I'm missing ethos!)

  • Considering doing journals based on how to strengthen online presense/build a brand and have my SDA be a mini series of maybe 2-3 videos that delve into some of my past artworks and maybe the meanings behind them
