To introduce myself as an artist, I had planned a few cinematic, storytelling videos for this SDA, but, instead, I found myself doing a piece for AP art late into the night and realized it would make a good video. While I still want to do the ideas proposed in my last journals, I opted to do a combination of cinema and vlog because I was using a new software (Adobe Premiere Pro) to edit and I didn't want to overwhelm myself with such an ambitious task.
This video is scheduled to upload to YouTube on Monday, November 24 at 2:00 PM.

Description:
sleep's for the weak what can I say (joking)
featuring an episode of me pulling an all nighter to finish (and start) an art piece
For those of you new to my artwork- hello! Most of my pieces center around my culture and this recent one is no different. As a part of my AP art portfolio, I wanted to start exploring the energy that my culture gives me. I symbolized that in the painting using mandala (flower) doodles behind the girl on the right. On the left side of the piece, there are lines in the background to symbolize judgement from the other girl. Despite this rude stare, the girl on the right continues being herself- something I try to do everyday. My heritage gives me the confidence to do so and I hope to continue exploring these "background doodles" in pieces to come.
