I’m so glad to have been a part of such an incredible event where I got an opportunity to express my thoughts and work on exciting projects. We created amazing videos and quizzes and PPTs. I really enjoyed the interactive sessions we had where we got amazing ideas by people from our international friends around the globe. It was a wonderful experience overall and I hope that we continue to be a part of such journeys.

My experience in the GVC project was exceptionally good. I got a chance to make a very informative and eye-catching website about oceans that we did great as a team. The team worked very swiftly and everyone got a chance to showcase their talents. I believe that it was really good to see some other country's views on the topic and it was really fun to interact with them.

I'm grateful that I've got to learn something new in every meeting of GVC. I've gained exposure about our environment, the global problems that affect oceans and marine life. Interaction with the students abroad was also very knowledgeable.

I gained a lot of knowledge by participating in this program, but the main thing I learnt was ,we have to put in conscious efforts to keep oceans from getting dirty and be alert about consequences we may face in future due to the changes happening in oceans because of our negligence and careless behaviour.

Working on something that is normal to say but lot to explore, was a challenging task. One - third of the Earth is covered by oceans and other water bodies and learning and exploring more about them is a chance that I got after participating in this project . I’m lucky to get this chance and when you have working hands from people around the globe the fun to this is doubled. Really happy to be a part of this cause.

This was my second year being a part of GVC, and personally I love this collaborative event where teamwork is essential to explore the best of our abilities. Also, the topic- Oceans is very close to my heart, there are Garbage patches forming in each and every Ocean, so discussing problems and solutions was so very informative. I look forward to being a part of this project next year as well.

I had an amazing time collaborating with kids from all over the world finding solutions for what is a worldwide problem. The water that makes up the oceans between us connects us all, and it should be everyone’s responsibility to take care of it. I hope we spread awareness about not just the ocean, but about the animals and plants that live in it too. I really hope we get to do this again soon!

During the ocean pollution presentation I've learned about how pollution effects the ocean and the animals living there. It has been so fun making slides, Scratch projects and paintings. I loved working with everyone. Thank you! Calla

I learned about all the different animals and plants of the ocean and it brought awareness to me about declining ocean life. I worked on all of the plays and I own the Oculus.

GVC is a great platform and gives an amazing exposure not only to the students but to the teachers as well and this year was no different. Though it was a little challenging as we couldn't meet the students in person but it didn't hamper our enthusiasm. We had a lot of interesting activities to celebrate this collaboration. The Zoom meetings, meeting the marine biologist, all went off very well. We learnt quite a lot about the oceans , which was enriching.

Another year with GVC was definitely an incredible one. It provided us with a chance to learn many things as it unfolded many interesting and unheard facts about oceans. I really enjoyed being a part of it and am grateful to everyone for their support in making this project a success.

Another year and another awesome GVC project for the students in the Glencoe/Chicago Pod. For the past 20 school years I have participated in one of the best online programs out there- Global Virtual Classroom (GVC). Students have the opportunity to meet and work with other students from around the globe, to collaborate with one another around a common theme, and to create a website of their choosing and to see it to fruition. This year we had the pleasure of working with the students and teachers from St. Marks secondary school in New Delhi, India and the wonderful students and teachers from Etkin College in Turkey. It was a wonderful collaboration for both students and teachers. From the onset we communicated via Edmodo and generated numerous theme possibilities narrowing it down to the theme of saving our oceans. Students got to work right away with each section of the website, partitioning the work among the students. One particular highlight was the video chat we had with a marine biologist. The students loved it and had the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas and generate new ones. The collaboration on this project was outstanding on all fronts. This was a student led project that yielded awesome results as you can see by our website. I want to thank our partners as they worked extremely hard and collaborated to the fullest extent. I also appreciate my partner teachers as they kept us on schedule and were always supportive in our decisions. I want to thank Joanne and Lakshmi for their help in keeping us all on schedule.

Here's to another great year of GVC!!!

I've been studying with my students in this project for 3 years. This year and all others we've learnt a lot from our partners and while searching for the topic. This project is great way for ESL students to communicate with students all around the world.

Thanks to our partners and great collaboration, we searched everything about the ocean and we learnt a lot from them.Ocean could be seen in one way until this website. But now it has changed. Because , widened our perspective for ocean and reached deep down information and give people a pointof view who will visit our website.

Thank you all students and teachers for their hard work and sincerely a big and grateful thank for Lakshimi and Joan-Patrick for this great project!

If you ask me what GVC adds to me I would probably say It gives me a sense for action in interesting and important topics. This is my 3rd time joining GVC and I always had fun in last 2.I like GVC because you have a say in an international project which I think helps the world by globelness being together. You always make better then your last time you joined GVC.For instance Me and my school became first in 2021 GVC SPACE.I gave the idea of ‘’Fun Facts About Space!’’ topic and students from all around the world gathered fun facts abot space under that article. To sum it up GVC is a place where you can join the international space and use your skills for the project

Hello! My name is Berra. I am from Turkey. I am a 6th grade student. I attended the GVC project. I want to talk about what did project gave me? This project allowed me to communicate with other people from different countries. Most of people can’t do this. At the same time, we learned about the oceans. For example, unknown animals and plants in the sea. We made games about the ocean. Our goal is to make a web site. I am very happy to attended in this project. In my opinion if you have a chance to attend this project, you should do it.
