Our ocean covers 70% of our planet. It is a primary source of food and income for some 3.5 billion people around the world. Yet, our ocean is being pushed to the brink. There is a need to conserve it. Ocean conservation is the protection of ecosystem in oceans through planning ,in order to prevent the over-exploitation from all the ocean garbage. Toxic gases from the garbage in the oceans spread all over and all the plastic and garbage not only harm the marine animals, consumers are also affected when eating fish or any other type of marine animal.
Hence, we need to take steps to protect the oceans.

WHAT CAN WE DO?
People go diving or on a boat to check if any negative effects are seen in the environment such as species loss, habitat degradation and changes in ecosystem functions and focus on limiting human-caused damage to make the environment clean and safe. We can also add helping hand to them by participating in ocean conservation programs or just do as the following -
We can use less water so excess runoff and wastewater will not flow into the ocean.
Joining or organizing a beach or river cleanup.
Spread the awareness about over exploitation.
Always recycle if possible.
Use fewer plastic products.
Try not to use items that exploit marine life etc.
It's not too late to save the oceans. Scientists claim that marine life is at risk of being wiped out by climate change but can recover by 2050 with less fishing, habitat restoration and pollution cuts.

Ocean Awareness by Charvi Gupta
Exploring the ocean and seeing a few whales off the coast of Hawaii. Let's take care of our precious friends!
The best way to reach out to the masses is to make them understand ,in the indigenous language, about the topic on which we need to spread awareness .We, the students of SMS Meera Bagh, tried to highlight and present the problem of ocean pollution & how we can contribute to eradicate it, through a street play known as 'नुक्कड़ नाटक' or 'Nukkad Natak'.
[Written and enacted by the students of SMSMB , Background music {Harp} by Calla (USA)]
