Air Badminton Introductory program and Mini competition was held at the University of Peradeniya on 30th March, 2024. The program was conducted by the Department of Physical Education University of Peradeniya in colaboration with the Sri Lanka Badminton. 06 Universities (University of Peradeniya , University of Kelaniya,University of Visual & Performing Arts, University of Gampaha Wickramaarachchi Indigenious Medicine, Eastern University, South Eastern University)  and children from 05 schools participated the event. Around 100 participants enthusiastically engaged for the theoritical session which coverd the laws of the game, technical information, game strategies, etc and practical sessions worked off at the out door courts. The sessions were immensly sucessfull and officials from SLB, University academic staff members, Central Province Badminton Association  (CPBA ) officials, Directors of Physical Education of various universities

, Instructors of Physical Education of various universities , Principals, teachers from invited schools, school children , parents and so many well wishers participated eagerly for all the sessions.

The program was concluded distributing some donations to the participating universities and schools to start the game in their respective institutions. These donations were provided by the Sri Lanka Badminton and  consisted of 04 Badminton rackets, 02 air badminton shuttle tubes, a net etc.

The Air Badminton Association's Chairman promissed the participants to provide continuous support to initiate the game and make sure to assist by means of some follow up measures.
