Description: The distribution of live television broadcasts from a cable or satellite provider to computers, Promethean boards and televisions via the school’s data network
School will provide:
Digital Satellite/cable TV service and equipment
TV monitors that have been mounted on walls
Decoder for each TV
Encoder for each cable box
Must have power outlet near each TV
Network drop at each decoder and encoder location
Appropriate cables to connect decoder to the TV and the network
ETS will provide:
Design system and provide quotes
Installation of encoders
Support
Training

Able to distribute a Satellite/cable TV feed to multiple TVs/monitors, computers, or Promethean boards using the school’s data network.
Cons
Cost of the satellite/cable TV service
The number of channels available at any one time are limited to the number of cable/satellite boxes and encoders at each site
