Connecting Hardware to the Network

Each classroom/office should have at least two (2) data drops in the wall

• The phone will be connected into one and the computer or printer into the other

• Most locations have one of these ports specifically designated for the phone so that the phone doesn't need a separate charger

  • If you plug the phone into the port and do not get any message on the screen, try the other port

  • If this doesn't work either, try a known good telephone port to determine if the issue is the phone or the data port

On the back of the phone, 

• Port labeled SW should connect the phone to the wall data port

• Port PC can be connected to either the printer or computer that was not connected directly into the wall port

• NEVER connect data cables from both of these ports to the wall data ports - This will cause issues with your network!
