Nov 13 - Child Protection Training Center

FTA Leadership took a trip to USC Upstate for a workshop at the Child Protection Training Center. Professor Jodie Martin and her team lead a meaningful session about the impact of ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and the role of genetics and environment on brain development.  We discussed the importance of awareness and the roles of mandatory reporters.  We took a tour of a mock house that replicated the home of a family in trauma.  We developed a real sense of empathy and compassion for each other, friends, classmates and future students.
