Freshman Year Checklist/Timeline:

Fall (August - December)

• Freshman Orientation

• Focus on getting off to a good start academically 

• Counselor minute meetings with 9th graders during Quarter 1- know your resources!

• Develop effective study skills and utilize test-taking tips

• Become involved in extracurricular activities, such as clubs and sports, and/or volunteer activities in the community

• Build your Student-Led IGP Presentation

Project in Freshman Success class

• 1st semester ends: Remember, all grades count! Everything goes on your transcript and is counted into your GPA!

Spring Semester (January - June)

• Meet with your counselor and parents to present your IGP Presentation

• Tour & Apply to special programs: CTE Innovation Center, Fine Arts Center, Golden Strip Career Center

• Be on the lookout for Bridges to a Brighter Future information

• May: AP testing
