Kirkwood
Welcome! My name is Kaley Kirkwood. I am so grateful that I get to be your child's teacher!
I was born and raised in Florida, living most of my life in Orlando and then attending Florida State University. I know it's an unpopular opinion here...but Go Noles!
After graduating from FSU with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in ESOL Education, I moved to Tampa, Florida where I taught 5th grade ELA. I absolutely love 5th grade and ELA!
The summer that I graduated college, I got married to my incredible husband Zach in Greenville at Pretty Place Chapel. Zach grew up in Greer and went to Pelham Road Elementary. Ever since he first brought me to see his hometown, I dreamed of living here.
Last summer we left Florida and became Greenville residents. My dream come true!
I love to spend time with my parents and younger brother and sister. They are all still in Florida and I'm missing them very much, but I am thankful that I'll always have a place to stay near the beach!
My favorite things to do are outside. I love to run, bike and hike. During the pandemic we went on a 4-day backpacking trip in North Carolina, it was a blast!
One of my favorite experiences of my life was getting to be a camp counselor at a summer camp in Maryland. I lived in a tent with high school girls for 10 weeks and we all had the time of our lives. It's also where I met my husband.
I absolutely adore my sweet rescue pup Leo. He loves to snuggle, snore and run laps around his new backyard. Before too long, my students will feel like they know him too!
Teaching is truly my passion and I am already so thankful for each of the students that will walk through my door this year. In my room, we're not just a class, we're a family.
