Hoglund
My name is Alison Hoglund and I am excited to be teaching 5th grade this year! This will be my 5th year teaching and my 12th year in education. I previously taught in the computer lab, as Kindergarten assistant and 3rd grade. I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching. I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and I live in Greer in the Five Forks area. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, puzzling, playing cards, volunteering and speaking on behalf of Donate Life South Carolina. A fun fact about me is I received a liver transplant on February 26, 2019.
I have been married to my husband, Joe, of twenty years and we have two children, Isabella (19) and Miles (17). Isabella is a sophmore at Clemson and Miles is a junior at Mauldin High School. In our spare time as a family we enjoy cheering on Miles on the soccer field. We also have two dogs, Remi (a Rhodesian Ridgeback) and Hope (a Yorkie). We love going to the beach on the Gulf Coast, Lake Keowee, and Clemson to cheer on the Clemson Tigers.
It might’ve taken me a while to get here, but with a lot of dedication and persistence, I’ve finally found my dream job! I absolutely love teaching and learning, and I’m so grateful to be part of the Woodland Elementary School family. I’m looking forward to another great year at Woodland, teaching 5th grade to your amazing Woodland Wildcats!
One thing I truly value is building strong connections—not just with my students, but with their families as well. When we partner in education and work together as a team, we can proactively support your child’s growth and create a strong foundation that empowers their learning every step of the way.
Welcome to the Krewe of Hoglund—where we plant seeds of knowledge and watch learning grow every day!
