An Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) is a flexible school document that students, parents/guardians, and school counselors create to help students focus on interests, abilities, and academic and career goals. It guides students toward meeting high school graduation requirements as well as requirements to enter postsecondary education and training.
Students start this process in the 6th and 7th grade by completing career interest inventories and participating in various career activities. This culminates with students selecting a career cluster during their 8th grade year. By choosing a career cluster in the 8th grade, students will be better informed about choosing electives in high school that will better prepare them for their chosen career beyond graduation – on the job or in college.
Students and parents will meet via phone with the counselor beginning November of 2025 to review all information. Counselors will be meeting individually with students who's parents are not able to attend so that they may be able to receive all of the same information. The power point below is also available on the website. Please note that all meetings must take place no matter what. Counselors can follow up after the determined date to go over any meetings that parents were not part of. Students class registration is sepereate and will happen in the Spring. Parents will have an opportunity to look over those classes selected before they get sent to the high schools. These must be back by April 1st.
We ask that you view the slide show below, prior to your student's meeting or at some point this year.
