Good Evening Families,
I hope that you are all staying healthy and safe. While times are uncertain, let’s take advantage of the sunshine forecasted for this weekend. Maybe take a walk, bike ride or play outside.
We have been working over the past few days to prepare for distance learning and will be enacting our plan beginning Monday, March 23. We ask for your patience while we start this process, since things will evolve as we move forward.
Teachers have communicated with you to share that Kelly Lane Primary School will be using Seesaw as our distance learning tool. They have been working hard to create learning plans that are collaborative, aligned with our curriculum and enriching for the students.
Assignments will be shared on a daily basis by 8:00 a.m. with instructions that describe what students are being asked to do in each content area. These learning templates will also be posted on the District’s Distance Learning webpage.
As students begin this distance learning, families are encouraged to be flexible in terms of when these activities are completed. Consider spreading the tasks out over the course of the day, setting up a schedule for learning, try to maintain routines, keep in contact with your child(ren)’s teacher, and make time to read, create and play!
Starting Monday, I will be sharing a daily message over email that will include a fun fact!
My *virtual* door is always open, and I urge you to please reach out over email with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this transition.
Always remember to be a “bucket filler”
Kim
