Short conversations and reading selections of topics of interest to young people are used to present vocabulary and structure and to introduce students to Hispanic culture. Interrelationship of English and Spanish will be emphasized.

This is a weighted course that will be taught using the total immersion technique. Continued development of the four basic language skills, reading, writing, speaking, and listening will be the main focus. Heritage learners of Spanish are students who have been exposed to Spanish in their homes or communities from a young age. As a consequence of that early exposure, they can understand and/or speak the language and have a personal connection to it. Improving written Spanish and grammar are goals of this course. The Hispanic culture and world are studied.

This is a weighted course that will be taught completely in the target language. Students will continue to explore Spanish grammar and vocabulary through a wide variety of experiences. An emphasis on oral and written communication will be focused upon in this class. Students enrolling in this class should plan to take the AP Spanish IV Language Class.
