This week we will be attempting to regrow from scraps; lettuce and celery. Below you will find videos and images of the steps involved in growing these plants using kitchen scraps and produce.

We have all at some point had feelings of wanting to be something we're not or are impatient about growing up. But in time, we learn to love our qualities as they make each of us special and unique.
Find out what happens to our fuzzy, plump caterpillar friend in part 2 of our read aloud.
Cut 2-3 inches from base.
Remove outer layer stalks.
Place in a dish of water.
After 2 days, this is normal.
6 days later, new stalks growing from center.
* Change water every 3 days.
After 2 weeks, short roots should appear. Ready to plant!
Soak soil for 1 hour before planting.
Place celery on top, add extra soil around.
Cut 2-3 inches from base.
Place in cup of water - just enough to cover base.
Set cup by window and keep your water fresh. Rinse your lettuce too.
3 days later, regrowth in the center of lettuce.
6 days later. Keep changing your water.
10 days later, you can use the leaves for a salad, then back to the water it goes.
About 2 weeks later, you should see roots. Ready to plant in soil.
Place lettuce in soil. Completely cover the old leaves with soil. Leave in a bright window
